Client:
Case Western Reserve University

Construction Cost:
$375,000

Completion Date:
2010

KAI recently provided comprehensive architectural services for a new stadium for Case Western Reserve University’s Varsity Women’s Softball Team. The stadium was built at the existing softball diamond in its current location on the Case campus, near the intersection of Mistletoe Drive and Wade Park Avenue. KAI designed the entire site, inclusive of new concrete walkways and a new entry gate along Mistletoe Drive.

The new stadium includes a Press Box, grandstand seating, and bleacher seating behind the existing backstop. The project also includes the installation of perimeter backstop drainage.

KAI designed Mather Park with respect to the existing materials and facades of the nearby Nobby’s Ballpark, the adjacent football stadium, and North Quad student housing, thereby contributing to the unified campus aesthetic desired by the university. Accordingly, the exterior façade incorporates a combination of brick, metal panels, and ground‐face CMU. Sconces which provide accent lighting are also included on the exterior and match those used at Nobby’s Ballpark.
