KAI was retained by Cleveland Clinic to renovate the first floor of the existing "L" Building to accommodate a new housing facility for their Biomedical Resources Unit Zebra Fish Studies. The Project consolidates the animal laboratories, previously located throughout the CC campus, into a single facility.
A new tank system forms the heart of the aquatic research facility. Dual UV filtration and pump systems feed the tank racks, and a new reverse osmosis water system was installed to ensure that pure water is provided to the system.
KAI worked closely with researchers to provide optimal work areas while also meeting regulatory requirements. Details were developed and materials were selected to provide a sanitary, durable environment for research. In addition to coordinating standard laboratory casework design and installation, KAI designed custom fabricated casework to meet the specific needs of the Aquatics researchers.
