KAI provided A/E services for 30,000 SF of renovations to the two-story Cleveland Clinic X building, providing a new outpatient Diabetes, Geriatric, and Coumadin Center. Interior renovations were designed to maximize functionality while conforming to a tight budget and schedule.
Twenty-four exam rooms were created, along with supporting offices, laboratory, and patient education areas. KAI worked with several user-groups to determine specific needs and appropriate space allocation within the newly shared facility. New rooftop HVAC units were installed along with a new emergency generator. Light fixtures within the building were upgraded to energy efficient LED lighting.
In addition to interior improvements, the existing roof system was removed and replaced.
Our scope of services also included an extensive Code Assessment of the existing building to determine the improvements required to meet current Federal, State and local building codes and all other applicable specific healthcare guidelines and codes. KAI's in-house Code Analyst prepared the Code Review and Building Assessment Report. Cleveland Clinic was able to use this report to ascertain the specific project scope of the eventual project, for which KAI recently completed Construction Administration.
