Improvements made to the existing Chardon United Methodist Church, Narthex, and classroom buildings included re-roofing of the existing sanctuary building, classroom modifications, new restrooms, and an elevator in the lobby. Additions to the complex are a classroom expansion, a new assembly room, administrative offices, a courtyard, rotunda, and a foyer in the Narthex. A second floor expansion added 2,400 SF to the existing two-story Education building. To the south of the existing Education building and Narthex is a new 12,000 SF addition containing multi-purpose and administrative space. A new high-ceiling assembly room consists of a pre-engineered frame building with metal roof wall panels, a masonry knee-wall, and a standing seam metal roof with a new kitchen, telescoping stage, and three storage rooms. Natural light comes from the eight 2' by 8' skylights and a large, westward facing, diamond shaped translucent window. An outdoor enclosed courtyard with new sidewalks, shrubs, benches, and a water fountain was created between the new addition and the existing building. Also added was a one story rotunda and narthex foyer with custom wood truss roofs and exposed wood decking.
